Hello everyone! I have been on this health board for quite sometime and it really helped me get through my neck surgery back in 2004. I received so much support and so much information that doctors cannot give. They do not experience most of these symptoms and what goes through our minds first hand...so this is a great place and I am glad that this tool is here for everyone.

That being said. I am 27 years old and I am being tested for lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. I have not received my test results yet. My symptoms have been driving me crazy for years. It all started with a car crash. A drunk driver had hit my friends car and the impact was really in the passenger side seat..and that is where I was. After three years of physical therapy and many alternative choices I finally gave in and had a cervical fusion. I was told that I would have chronic pain for the rest of my life and I would just have to deal.

The pain has gotten worse...and the symptoms keep coming. So it isn't just my neck anymore. The first symptom besides the pain was tremors. Horrible tremors. I was always shakey. My hands always trembling. Not so bad that an outsider could tell right away..but if you knew me you saw it. Then my legs. Tremored so badly and out of control that it was embarassing to go out in public. I always had to make sure I had something to perch on or somewhere to sit. I am now taking Klonopin for my tremors and that has helped. Then the migrains came....oh those are furn:) The migrains would persist and persist. Felt like someone stabbing me in the back of my head with an ice pick and it would not let up. sometime the right side of my face would go numb or at times the bone around my eye sockets hurt.

Now my symptoms are:
- Chronic Pain in neck and shoulders
- Joint pain that changes nightly.....sometiems my knees, ankles, wrist, fingers, etc.
- Tremors
- Anxiety
- Not able to really sleep
- Always tired...even if I get 12 hours of sleep I still feel as if it wasn't enough
- Memory problems
- little rashes on my chest and arm - the size of a thumb print and oval
- Dry eyes, itchy eyes
- Horrible allergies

So there is my story....I hope that I can help people b/c I know this board does a lot of good. I am still waiting for my test results to come back and part of me thinks it would be great to have a diagnois other then chronic pain...and some part of me doesn't want it. However...i do want an answer as too what is wrong with me and I am so tired of hearing...you have pain and you will just have to live with it. I am 27...and I had to give up the love of riding horses b/c it was way too much on my joints...and that wasn't the case 7 years ago.

I too am being tested for lupus and RA. I see a rheumy on feb 7th. I have joint pain, fatigue, anxiety etc... My bloodwork came back with elevated RA factor of 44. I guess thats high I don't know. I am in the same boat. i am tired of feeling like crap so I need to find out why. Also have b12 checked. Mine was a low normal at 284. This too can cause many of the same issues. good luck. I have 4 horses and it is tough on my aching body to muck stall and all the heavy lifting I do. They give me such peace when I am with them that I hope I will be able to continue with them. I guess my hub will have to do most of the work if I can't. I'm here if you need to talk. kw
