Hi, I am a 22 year old mama of a 2 year old that works full time and Im sure you get these kind of questions all the time, but...I have had headaches almost every single day for about 4 years now. ( I have had one sinus surgury 3 years ago, and the headaches went away for about 6 months) I have been on at least 4 different migrane medicines, anti depressants, had cat scans, and now my doctor is just perscribing me 20 vicadin a month. I am so flustrated. I refuse to take the vicadin, b/c I know it is just masking the symtoms, and I want to stop having headaches. Im sorry if I sound like I am feeling sorry for myself...I am just so sick of the headaches every single day.

Any advise is appreciated.

Thanks

How do you know this? Did you look the rx up on the net?
You need to inform your doctor of your dissatisfaction w/any rx he/she prescribes.

If your dr is not a Neurologist, strongly suggest that you find one as they are the experts in treating migraines/headaches. It's their specility.

Go get a massage. I bet if you relax you will start to feel these problems going a way. Do a deep tissue massage on your back, but just make sure no very strong pressure is used so it does not feel uncomfortable.

I think it's caused by overly stressed muscles.

You mentioned sinus problems in the past so I am wondering if these feel like those same type of headaches. You didn't mention anything about what type of headaches or pain you are having nor what time of day they occur and what symptoms you have along with them. Post more info and someone may be better able to offer some help.

My headaches usually start around noon. My face hurts, and the top of my head, along with my neck. I have been reading and they sound similar to tension headaches. These headaches are different than the headaches I had before my sinus surgury.

I have discussed my vicadin rx with my doctor(she is not a neurologist) and she feels that it is the best option at this point. I just dont like to take it, b/c within 3 hours of taking it, I can feel the headache coming back. Plus, it knocks me out...and I have to be awake to take care of my daughter.

Thank you for all your responses.

Rachel
