I posted a message a few weeks ago about having headaches that would come and go throughout the day. I haven't had those for a while now... but lately I've been getting these dull headaches. Sometimes I'll have them right when I wake up, but they usually start sometime in the morning. They last all day, and it's not a really bad headache or anything, but it really gets in the way of things, and all I wanna do is sleep when I have them. Does anyone know what could be causing these, and what I could do to get rid of them? I never really take ibuprofin, advil, etc. because they don't work for me. But it's just a weird dull pain in my forehead. Please help me out if you have any suggestions.

May be stress related. The throbbing kind are usually migrains. However, if over the counter meds are not working, suggest that you visit your doc so that you can get the stronger stuff which are always rx. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

I don't know how allergies are in Florida, but in Cincinnati we all feel that way!

Hmm... I haven't thought that stress could be causing them. I sure wouldn't be surprised if that was the case, I've had a lot on my shoulders lately. Any suggestions to relieving stress? Thanks for the reply http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

I also have stress headaches, and have some arthritis in my neck that contributes. My doctor prescribes me Midrin, which helps alot. If you have sinus problems, they can cause a constant headache like yours also (like I stated before, allergies) http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/dizzy.gif

I'm beginning to think it is sinus or allergy related. Although I've never had a problem with allergies. My parents think I'm getting them because of my diet, and that if I snack throughout the day it causes my blood sugar to go up and down, then come the headaches. So I'm on this diet where I only eat breakfast lunch and dinner and make sure I eat something to last me to the next meal. I've been on it for 3 days, and I don't expect it to work really soon or anything, but I still have a headache. I've had this headache for 4 days now, and I'm getting so frustrated. It starts off really dull in the morning, and as the day goes by it gets worse. Last night I could hardly fall asleep. And I was having the pain between my eyes, near my nose. That sounds like sinus right? I'm not sure, I'm so fed up with these, I'm probably going to take a trip to the doctor soon. Thanks so much for your replies.

Hey, alwrunner, I didn't have allergies till i was in my 30's. I would definitely go to the doctor, or at least get to the drug store and buy yourself an over-the-counter allergy medication like Claritan, or a generic form of it. My doctor prescribes me Allegra and it helps most of the time, but certain times of the year nothing seems to help. It's worth a try! Good luck!

Thanks so much for your help. I'll probably be visiting a doctor soon. I've decided to make a "headache diary" and record everything about my headahces. I hear it's supposed to help find out what's causing them, and how to help them. I'm going to figure this out, I don't want to live my life this way. Thanks again, it's great to talk with others who know how I feel http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

Make sure you also note what foods you had the day of your headaches & the weather conditions.

Suggest that you make an appt w/a Nurologist as they are the headache experts. Check the yellow pages for a Headache Clinic. And, if you are female, try to get a female Neuro.
