well, tonight i am having a hard time sleeping, ill give you alil back round in hopes some one out there can help me:(
i am a 24 year old semi healthy woman, that being said.... i started having a period on the 4th of december, but it was very short, whatever, woohoo:) but then on the 13th, i stated having a period with a weird color discharge (sorry for the tmfi) well it has not stopped since for more than a hour here and a hour there, ive been to two doctors and the er, and they have not found anything wrong with me in terms of there. but on the way out of the er a week ago the er doc asked me if i had diabetes, and said it was the only thing he could think of.... and that i should get checked, well my hole family has diabetes of one form or anotherm and my mother had borderline diabetes, where if she didnt eat enough or she ate to much- suger in the food wise- she would get really sick... and it scared me pretty bad.
well i guess im just wondering if anyone else stared out like this.. one more thing, i had some weird callis type things show up on one foot, and it kind of hurts, but isnt athaleits foot, is this a part of it.... ive in total been bleeding for 48days....
i asked my doctor for a test, but she still hasnt sent down the orders and its been a week... any thoughts you can help me with, im really freaking out:confused:

Hey kittykatmommy, sounds like you are having a rough time, remember you will get through it.

I can't comment on a lot of what you say, but I can say that to initially diagnose diabetes can be very easy and quick - it can be done with a fingerstick test. Of course the doctor will send off a more thorough test, but for ease of mind you should be able to ask a GP for a simple fingerstick BG test. Or, use/borrow a friends, making sure you use a fresh lancet. You may also be able to buy one at a pharmacy as well.

This test will give you a blood glucose reading, which you can compare with the "normal" range, which is something like 70 - 110 mg/dl

Good luck, take it easy.
