I have allways had neck pain since I was 17 I am now 45 I have ruptured discs in my neck and got told I have severe cervical spondiltis mri diagnosed 10 years ago arm pain and pins and needles burning down right arm ect.I started having lower back pain 5 years ago mri scan revealed wear and tear no impingment.

I started in a gym 4 months ago and done power walking on a treadmil,I started getting pains in my neck arms lower back but ignored it because I was losing wieght with diet and excersise and didnt want to give it up,then my tail bone become excrutiating 10 out of 10 pain including leg painI went to the gp who sent me to an orthipedic clinic run by physios they assesed me and believed my pain may be coming from my neck however they had my lumbar spine mri`d I was dumstruck when it came back clear and they basicly dismissed me in agony.

after a months rests the pain became bearable again and I went back to the gym I not only started jogging I started to do wieght lifting foolishly I know but I was determind to lose more weight by christmas, whilst jogging on the treadmil at a high elevation I felt my lower back go and my legs and feet, stabbing electric shock pains It has been 6 weeks now and I am in agony I have electric shocks going through both arms,my neck is making a crunching sound,my legs burn I have nerve pain in the soles of my feet.

when I lift some thing with my arms I feel the electric shock pain though to my hands,When I sit on my bum it goes numb as does my legs and feet, sitting is a nightmare I get 90% relief when standing or lying down ,driving and sitting is 20 out of 10 pain I am not diabetic and all my bloods are normal.

Can anyone please relate to this ,If I had no pain in my saddle area/tailbone then my symptoms are quite alarming I have been to a chiropractor and he has said my body is like its been in a car crash he wont go near my neck, its three weeks just to see my gp again. how can I have all this pain in my lower back and a negative mri lumbar scan or is it all comming from my neck?:confused::confused::conf used:

The crunching in your neck is probably degenerative disc disease and the sharp pains down your arms could be coming from a pinched nerve. Also as far as you back is concerned it sounds like it could be sciatic nerve problems. Have you been checked out by a neurologist if not you should consider going to one.

I think you definitely need to be referred to a good spinal specialist and have a full Spinal MRI done to see what's going on. It could be that the cervical spine is causing issues with your legs, but you may have to separate issues going on .. cervical and lumbar. I don't want to scare you, but it does sound like there is a lot going on and I would highly recommend that your GP refer you to a good spinal specialist. You may see if your GP will order an a full Spinal MRI to get things going. I would just take it really easy until you find out what's going. Sometimes we think we're doing better and we end up causing re-injury.

Keep us posted on what you find out. You're in my thoughts.
