I had my gallbladder out 30 years ago, but ever since I have had attacks of very severe pain which then lead to vomiting over 30 years now and so bad I go to the ER and they give me pain killers to ride through it.

Now the painkillers don't work and I usually lye on the bathroom floor for hours instead of going to the ER as that they don't find out what is wrong. I can be sleeping in the middle of the night and wake up with it or even during the day. I have such pain it doubles me in two on the floor I usually can't eat for a day or 2 afterwards. Sometimes I lose an entire day or night and day because the pain is so severe.

Years ago I had an ultrasound for something else and I asked the tec to go up higher where i ahve these pains. The duct where the gall bladder used to be is a lot bigger than normal. I saw a show last evening on Discovery Health about

For some odd reason your post cut off. hmm.
I had my gallbladder out in 2002 and have had periodic stomach aches since then. To make a long story short........... I have been in the hospital 2x in Jan because I have gallstones in my cystic duct AND Main bile Duct. Both times I got Jaundice from it. They thought they got the stones out the first time, but 3 weeks later MORE were in there killing me. They couldnt get them out this time (had an ERCP both times) and they put a stent in there. Now I have to have another ERCP in 6 weeks and pray that the medicine they gave me broke up the stones enough to get them out this time. Otherwise its surgery for me! So you can get stones after gallbladder removal!! And they hurt like having a baby!! Are you getting yellow when you are in this kind of pain (skin and eyes). The first time I went to the ER in Nov, the moron dr. said it was IBS. sheesh. The 2nd time (Jan) they figured it all out just by seeing how yellow I was (among other tests) Same thing 2 weeks ago when I went back. Both times I had to be hospitalized. Anyway, dont rule out stones just cos the gallbladder is out. It is called CHOLEDOCHOLISTHIASIS (stones in the ducts).

I've have gallstones & occ one does get caught in duct & you're right, the pain is excruciating altho they are small stones they feel like boulders. I usually pass out it is so bad. Sometimes when this is happening if you will take 2 tsp Epsom Salts in a cup of warm water or apple juice the duct will relax enough to let the stone through.
