View Full Version : sinus headache??

Back in october i started getting headaches that were pretty constant, almost every day. I wear contacts and so people recommened i get my eyes cheked, i did and they were fine.
So i saw my doctor who thought that it may be a sinus headache (i've never had sinuses before). IT felt like pressure that ranged from the top of my forehead, sometimes right above/behind my eyebrows, and sometimes in my cheeks- though it didn't really hurt when it was in my cheeks, there was just a lot of pressure.
My doc put me on anti-biotics for a long time and as soon as i stoped they came back. I had 2 CAT scans done and my doc said they show sinus infections so i went to a specialist and HE said that my sinuses look fine and he's not convinced that they are from my sinuses... but he put me on some nasal spray to see if it helped.
So now, i don't get them as frequently but i find that i get a headache more when its raining or really humid/damp out. Motrine sinus/headache usually helps but not always, and i always need to take two.
Im just looking for any suggestions. Does it sound like sinuses? If so what can i do cause they haven't cleared up and its been a long time. Could it be other types of headaches?

Thanks to anybody who can help!

Those are very consistant signs and symptoms of sinus headaches. The pain, pressure and the fact that damp weather often sets them off. Since it is not thought to be an actual sinus infection anymore then it is most likely severe sinusitis. Your best bet is to use the sudafed along with with a pain medication when you get them. To almost permanently get rid of them be sure you use a good antioxidant supplement every day along with your mutltivitamin.

Hi,

It sounds like sinus headaches to me. The pain and pressure you decribed is what I lived with for 5 yrs except mine where so bad that I would get pain into my back teeth to, makes it very difficult to eat when you teeth hurt. My Dr. kept putting me on antibioticit seemed like I was living on them. Until I got a body piercing and got an infection from the surgical steel (I'm allergic the surgical steel). It's sad to say but I'm glad I got that infection, cause my Dr. put me on 2000 mg of a strong anti-biotic a day for 3 weeks and since then I have only had a couple sinus infections and the headaches went away.
You may just need a stronger dose on anti-biotics and for a long time to get rid of it. Thats what worked for me.

Hope you feel better,
Bren
