This is the concerned wife of the Hittman (a/k/a "Mrs. Braveheart") relaying thanks to "NECKPATIENT, FEELBAD AND MONAROG" for the advice, comfort and support you give my husband through this site. Your knowledge is invaluable and extremely comforting -- he talks about you all almost every day. Today he had an EXTREMELY thorough EMG test today revealed the possibility of a new direction ... multi focal motor neuropathy with conduction block.. although the Dr. cautioned us that ALS is not ruled out, I was happy to have a reprieve today. Apparently his case if perplexing on several levels -- some symptoms of multi focal motor neuropathy do not add up with all his symptoms and additionally, the fact that he has OPLL (evidenced my his myelogram) even had the Dr.'s head scratching. In any event, the possibility of a treatable condition is a reason to be thankful. I was thrilled that the gavel did not come crashing down with a definitive diagnosis of ALS. I think tonight we'll celebrate the possibility of a treatable situation. :)

Mrs Braveheart - thank you for giving us an update. Our little community here is a caring group of people. I am glad to hear of the good news, I continue to be optimistic about "The Hittman". This sounds more in line with what we were thinking , with our cummulative physical. experiences we felt the word would come back this way. Hopefully you two will get a little better sleep and do give TH my best, I am sure he is pretty beat up from that extensive emg. Tell him I will keep him in my prayers.

PS - when something good happens to me, the next day I do a random act of kindness. Even if it is something simple - try it. Send those positive vibes back out to the universe and hopefully they will bounce back to you again!

well thank you for the update mrs HM.your hubby really has been thru it,and i have been concerned about some of the more insane symptoms he was having.very strange to say the least, but you already know that.i have just been wondering how much of what has been going on was actually really being generated by some level of cord involvement.my symptoms with cord damage just sound so much like his,or at least some.this at least sounds like you have a sense of direction at this point and thats always a good thing.it just takes some pushing of docs in this type of situation without letting up in order to really find the source of the problem.it can be tough on everyone, espescially the wife in his case.i know this has not been easy for you to have to watch him suffer thru all this.honestly, when you are in this type of situation, just knowing that your spouse is just there for you thru everything can make all the difference in the world, believe me.tell him i said hey,and to hang in there.i am thinking of him too.i will be out of commission come wed, having my torn rotator cuff repaired,so if he pops back and i don;t answer him,let him know that will ya?if all goes well i hopefully will be able to at least lurk here again by friday.take good care of our HM.thanks again for updating us.Marcia

Hey Marcia--
It's Doug----now Braveheart07 (hittman didn't follow the rules of the board, so....) My wife jumped on last night to say thanks to you guys.....I've mentioned you all and how supportive you've been....I know you are just about to have surgery (again)--so I'll get my wife to say a prayer too----she has more "pull" with the man upstairs than I do....I hope you all have supportive spouses, because it absolutely makes everything a whole lot more bearable----My wife and I actually have become closer since this all started...something positive from this mess. Anyway Marcia---Best of Luck !!--you are in our thoughts and prayers---look forward to hearing of your speedy recovery..
Take Care--- Doug (formerly the hittman)
