Hey, Sorry its so long...

I am currently on Yasmin. I have been on it since May 2007. Well my recent last pack, My period lasted well over a week, and made me really sick and has made my acne come back really strong and has never dont this before.

I called my Gyno today. I was shocked to find out that in December she moved back to North Carolina. So i was alone on my frustration. The nurse wanted me to see a guy doctor or a nurse practicioner(sp). I didnt have much luck with my doctor when i went in to see her for my papsmear.

She put me on BC because i was having my period for 5-7 months straight non stop. She said my body doesnt produce eggs and so my body keeps trying to make eggs and bleeding so that they will stick.

So she put me on Yasmin and now im having problems.

The nurse said the nurse practicioner said to try Yaz... But i dont see why. Isnt Yasmin and Yaz the same thing just Yaz has lower estrogen?

I dont feel comfortable taking this. Is there something else I can try or that i can do.

I asked to see one of the guy doctors and the lady said that i didnt need to be seen and sent a refural to my pharmacy for Yaz.

I asked my pharmacy and they said thats not right and that i should try something else.

Since im not fimillar with other pills, can some of you give me some suggestions or something that i can take that will keep my acne away and keep me regulated so that im not bleeding 24/7? I would like to stay on a form of Birth controll because my boyfriend and I are sexually active and I dont want to risk Pregnancy since my boyfriend is allergic to Laytex and the knock off versions of Non laytex condoms... (He swells and gets sick and his privates get very red and itch.)

So if anyone can help I would really appreciate it.

Thank you.

I am on Yasmin and love it, but I know it doesn't work for anyone! I also do think Yaz is similar, so I'd try something different. I haven't tried any other pills, but I'd read through the boards and check out some other pills because like. I know the multi-phase pills (Like Ortho Tri-Cyclen) are a lot different. Hopefully something different will work for you more! I know Yasmin has HELPED my skin and made my periods shorter, so if you are having the opposite happen, it sounds like it isn't working right for you.

Do you think you would be able to swith gyno's? Like a whole new office? Maybe you can get some recommendations from friends in the area so you can find a new one you like. It's always a bummer when your doctor moves! It's totally up to you about the doctor being a male, but if you aren't comfortable with it, definitely find yourself a new female doctor. Be sure to tell them all about your past and what is currently happening with the pill so they won't put you on a new one that's too similar. Good luck to you!
