Hi,

I have a question about klonopin. My doc put me on it yesterday for some hypomania, havent had a good night's sleep in a long time. Last night I took 2 mg according to his directions and slept all night, was a little groggy in the am but managable. However what happened a few hours ago concerned me. Since I was still tired I took a nap after work(no klonopin since last night). As I was sleeping I think I had hallucinations of two things in my living room. Since I was so tired I am not sure if I was dreaming or I actually woke up. Has this happened to anyone woth klonopin before?

Hi Ced33: Listen all I an say is that my sister took that, it helped her sleep, but she got really messed up. Not sure it it was just the klonapin, she was on Lyrica lamitcal and others. So check out a site on side effects. Only thing I do know is that it helped her sleep,

Hi,

Yes, one of the side effects of Klonopin can be hallucinations. I think you should call your p/doc about this. Maybe he/she can find something else to help you sleep that doesn't cause the hallucinations.

Sorry this happened, must have scared you.

2 mg is a high starting dose. I am just taking .25 and I sleep well with it. Some times I'll take .5mg but I never take more than that. As far as the other posters sister, lyrica is some bad stuff! It along with the klonopin would mess anybody up!

Thanks for the repsonses. I appreciate them. I havent had internet so I havent had a chance to reply. I see my pdoc on Thursday and I will speak to him;however, I have always had lucid dreams. I even had them when I was young, dream every night, sometimes cant seperate from reality. I am not sure if I was just dreaming and I saw those things or I woke up and saw them. Months ago i awoke in the middle of the night and saw that my lamp was on. Its a touch lamp so again maybe some motion set it off or maybe I was dreaming. Does anyone have advice on how to speak to the doc about this? Also, sorry for the long response but I am on 2 mg so quickly because I need at least that to even rest. Thanks everyone. I am glad I found this site.

Hi,

Glad you're seeing doc soon. As to what to tell him, just tell him what happened, what you said here.

Hope the K gives you sleep relief.

Hi ced. The very same thing happened to me last night on klonopin! I saw that my light was turned on and it was very bright and then I woke up more (still very mellow and sleepy).

But how weird that that happened to both of us! Maybe seeing things can happen when really in a deep sleep on klonopin. Let me know what your doc says. I am curious now.

Hi llama,

I actually saw the light thing before any meds. I saw the other two things on klonopin. I talked to the doc today and he didnt seem concerned. I am still gauging how I like working with him. He wanted to make sure I wasnt going over the reccommended dose(which I have not). Has anything else weird occurred to you? Btw, off topic, I think we are around the same age. Maybe we can chat about dealing with this at this age(I am not saying its harder for the mid 20's its hard for all but maybe we have some common issues).
