I'm currently on Yasmin and have be on it for about 2 years to decrease severe cramps. However, I have gained at least 25 lbs. even while running 20-25miles a week, so I would like to quit taking it. My question is, is it ok to stop taking it in the middle of a pack or do you have to wait and finish the whole thing? Or does it really matter? Thanks for any help!

My Dr. told me a few months ago when it was time for me to quit that you should always finish the pack.

You should finish the pills first. Your body may be out of balance when coming off of these pills so be prepared. You can visit an accupuncurist to help with this, also reading up on which vitamins, foods, etc that may help you with your cramping will help.

Sorry to hear about your weight gain! I'm on Yasmin too and have been okay so far. I was going to ask you, has the weight gain happened throughout the 2 years or has it happened very quicky and recently?
I've been on Yasmin for almost 8 years. Originally I lost weight because I changed my diet and exercise, then gained 2 years into college because I was working more and wasn't working out as much as I did my first year. Now I'm back to a good fitness schedule and losing more weight again. I just want to look out for my weight because that's very important to me! I work out, but my diet is my main thing. Even if I eat healthy, I have to make sure I'm eating the right amount of calories.

The weight gain has been very odd...I didn't gain anything the first year, but the whole 25 lbs came during the 2nd year. Fairly rapid weight gain, especially for increasing my amount of running. It's getting a little scary. I'm glad you haven't had any problems with it...it seems that people either love it or hate it.
