I had MIRENA INSERTED on January 28, 2008. When my husband and I had sex, he said he could feel the plastic of the Mirena. Is this suppose to happen? He says it is very painful. I don't feel anything but he sure does.

I had MIRENA INSERTED on January 28, 2008. When my husband and I had sex, he said he could feel the plastic of the Mirena. Is this suppose to happen? He says it is very painful. I don't feel anything but he sure does.

My ex husband experienced the same thing. Come to find out it was the string of the iud that was poking him. The string is like fishing line and softens up over time. My doctor just cut the strings shorter.....problem fixed.
