I see it on here for withdrawls, but also see people on here adictted to it and having withdrawls

It is a medicine that some Dr's use to help people get off of opiates. I'm currently on it. You're not told in the beginning that it can be addictive. It sure hasn't been a merry-go-round, but I've went from 24 mgs to 2 and I'm trying to stabilize there so I can go to 1 and then done. I can tell you this.. I was on methadone.. and without the sub I wouldn't have been able to do this. So I think that as long as you're not on it for a long period of time, and you try to taper at a decent time frame, you'll be okay. Everyone's different. It depends on how much you're taking of what, and how long you've been on it. Hope this helps some. Best of luck!

G, i know you are on 2mgs how long was your whole suboxone deal? from 24mgs to now?

Angeliki, best advice when it comes to methadone.. if you can taper off of it without taking any other medicine, that would be the best thing. But if you cannot and need to maybe look into suboxone treatment.. be careful. You have to wait a while until the meth is out of your system before you can take suboxone. Otherwise you will get severely sick. My Dr gave me morphine for 2 weeks, then started the sub treatment. But maybe try to taper off the methadone slowly, and hopefully you can do it that way. Jules, I started the 1st of October on the 24mgs, and am on 3mgs now. So around 3 months is how long my taper took. And I'm still not done. It'll prob take me around 6 months to get off of everything. But I'd rather take my time and do it right than rush it.
