Hi there ! I'm Denise from Mobile and I've been reading these posts for quite some time. My timeline is this: Filed in Aug. o6, denied Dec. 06, got an attorney (well known in this state), filed an appeal in Jan. 07. I've contacted my congressman, senator and my attorney's side kick knows me by first name. I was just wondering goldyfm, how long you've been doing this dance, since you are in Alabama like me. My congressman says I could be scheduled for a hearing "any day"...I'm not angry...just numb from all the "hoop jumping".

Hi Denise, I actually called my attorney this morning and was informed I have another 6 months at least to wait. I was told there are currently 62,000 cases backlogged in the state. I am already at 20 months of waiting for an ALJ hearing to be set. I will be heard in the Birmingham ALJ office. I hope that answers your question.

Thanks for the response, goldyfm. I've been reading these boards for a long time and the one time (a while back) that I did post I didn't get any responses. Good luck to you and I hope you keep us posted. I'll try to do the same.
