i was wondering if anyone has found a birth control pill that does not have a negative side effect on their sex drive..i just dont understand the point of being on the pill if it makes you not want to have sex anyway

All pills affect everybody differently. I actually had an increase in libido on Ovcon-35, though.

did the ovcon cause any breakouts for you? thats another one og my concerns because ive battled acne for many years, i tried ortho but not only did it not help my skin but it made it worse and it effected my moods and everything else, ive heard estrostep is good for acne but i dont know anyone thats ever tried it

No, the only thing it did was make me depressed all the time and make my boobs bigger (went up a cup size). I went off of it after only four months because of the depression. Unfortunately, after I had switched to a couple other pills, I found out the reason for the depression on the Ovcon was that the pill depletes B vitamins. I got depressed on another pill (Brevicon) and I started taking a B complex vitamin every day and then I felt a lot better. If I had known about the B vitamin depletion a long time ago, I would have just stayed on the Ovcon and just took the B complex. That was the best pill I've ever been on. Truthfully, too, I think that monophasic pills, like Ovcon, are actually better for your skin. Regarding the Estrostep, you might want to reconsider that one. It's higher in androgens (male hormones) and while it may be better for libido purposes, it's really not good for your hair or your skin, from everything I've read. When I was on it, I didn't get any skin problems from it, but I lost a whole lotta hair, I'm talking at least a quarter of it. Plus, it made me depressed every month like clockwork a week before my period. I never had that problem before that pill. Like I said, pills affect everyone differently, but, if it were me, I'd avoid that one like the plague.

My pill has not affected my libido! I do struggle with depression on and off (NOT from the pill, happened years before the pill) and I find that if I'm depressed and don't have energy, THAT decreases my libido. Now I end up wanting sex if I'm depressed because I know it will help my mood :)!

I take Yasmin. Seems like the pill CAN decrease your libido, but I know it doesn't do that to a lot of people. I originally went on the pill to regulate my periods and not get so sick during my periods, but my libido stayed the same. My skin got less oily and more manageable too.

I agree that taking a B Complex is a good idea on the pill. I don't notice any mood changes from it, but some people do!
