Hey, I've been having some arm numbness/Aching pain from my shoulder all the way to the base of my wrist and it can last up to any where from a a few minutes to 4ish hours, does anyone have any ideas I've had it for about a year now not everyday maybe once every few weeks. Also I had a baby about a year ago and had an epidural could this be related...

if your pain was alot further down then i would say that could be a possibility, but being the epi was down at the lower end of the spine and the pain is in the upper extremity, the chances of the two being connected would be pretty much slim to none really.
with the symptoms you are having and the location, chances are it could be most likely stemming from one of two sources, your c spine or the shoulder or rotator cuff area(or in some cases,a little bit of both).do you have any actual neck type of pain or anything going on above that shoulder area?have you actually had this evaluated by your doc at some point?just having this looked at and him or her doing some basic neuro and range of motion types of tests on you,he would hopefully be able to at least have an idea just where this is actually starting at and would follow up with much more specific testing.checking out both your shoulder area and the c spine would be the best places to start.these areas are known triggers for the type of symptoms you are having.these of course are not the only possibilities just the most likely.any real Dx is a matter of testing and ruling things in or out.but having MRIs done on both those areas at some point could find the generator.i would just make an appt with your doc and see what he or she has to say about it and go from there.this could even be something very minor or simple too.you just wont know til things start getting looked into a little more in depth.hopefully this isn't anything structurally wrong that would require more than some PT to get past it.please let me know what you find out,K?good luck, FB

i really dont think so.....does this pain wake you from sleep? does it hurt worse when you pick things up or use your muscles?.....i had the same symptoms as you..i had to have shoulder surgey they removed a bicep tendon, part of the muscle, and a cartlidge....and now possibly looking at full shoulder replacement surgery...please see a very good ortho doc about this
