I weight lift and whenever my back or have muscle pains ill take a couple of loratabs...but in a hour or so ill get like a swooshing sound in my ears..anybody now what could be causing this?

It's a side effect of the med, hydrocodone. Do a search with your favorite search engine and you see a list of side effects. I'd talk to the Doc who scripts you the med.

It should also be noted that in a very small number of cases, opiate use can cause deafness, i.e Rush Limbaugh.
