|
lisalikesmakeup 02-05-2008, 12:25 PM infection right? What else could it indicate? Coravh 02-05-2008, 04:00 PM Probably, but it can also be other forms of damage. Have you been checked for an infection? Stones cause the blood sometimes too. Talk to you doc. Best of luck. Cora heather82 02-05-2008, 05:56 PM white, not red, blood cells signal infection. red blood cells (hematuria) can be benign or be a sign that something is causing bleeding in the genitourinary tract: the kidneys, the tubes that carry urine from the kidneys to the bladder (ureters), the prostate gland (in men), the bladder, or the tube that carries urine from the bladder out of the body (urethra). i have had red blood cells in my urine for years, and doctors tell me it is nothing to worry about. lisalikesmakeup 02-05-2008, 06:37 PM Well thanks. I had an infection which my doctor treated and I went back for a follow up and he told me there was some red blood cells in my urine. I have a history or problems with my ureter having scar tissue on it, which i've had since removed. SamQKitty 02-15-2008, 05:15 PM Any time you have blood in the urine, it must be thoroughly checked out. It is possible to have benign hematuria, but the only way to tell if it's benign is to rule out any other reason. You should have a cystoscopy to make sure there's not some other reason for the blood. Red blood cells can appear if an infection is severe enough. I know my Mom has had blood in her urine with a couple of severe infections. But it could be due to other things as well. Cora lisalikesmakeup 02-19-2008, 11:59 AM Well in the past i've had a lot of problems with my ureter.. if you read my past posts. To summarize.. I've had open surgery to cut out the 6 or so inches of scar tissue in my ureter tube. 7 hour surgery... since then the doctor is just watching closely because of all the issues I have had. IDK what would still cause red blood cells, but thanks guys. |
