Ok guys, not one of the nicest topics to talk about .. but I need help. After having my tonsils removed 8 days ago, the back of my throat looks absoultly disgusting. It's got lots of white little scabby bits, and the dangly thing in the middle has puffed up to like 4 times its size. Whenever I eat, I can feel this, and it is so uncomfortable. PLEASE HELP ME ASAP! :( WILL I BE STUCK LIKE THIS FOREVER?!?! :(

My roommate had her tonsils out and it took her a few weeks to get back to normal. I know she had plenty of ice cream for a while! Just be gentle with yourself and get plenty of rest. Don't try eating anything too "difficult" yet. Even when I had my oral surgery for wisdom teeth, I was conked out all day and felt soreness for at least a week and discomfort for a while. Getting tonsils removed I heard takes a little longer to heal.

I seem to recall that I still had a little piece of a scab when I went to the ENT at 3 weeks, otherwise things looked "good". By then my throat mostly looked red -- like I'd sunburnt it.

How is your throat now? Does it look normal? x
