hello, i am 23, married, no children, my husband is applying for disability and i work, I have several problems with ovarian cysts, pelvic infections and several other female problems, i had a operation last sept. to remove a large cyst, (the doctor who removed it made an exeption for me since i had no insurance and treated me as a one time thing) which i pay him what i can. I need to see a ob/gyn desperetly, i cannot get insurance and the Local DHS or medicaid wont help me becuz i have no kids and im not elderly. I need to know if anyone know of any sites, programs,
doctors, anything that might help me find someone to treat me that i can afford. the 2 ob/gyn in my town will not treat me without all money up front. please post here if anyone has any info. i live in arkansas.......

Do you happen to be near either a State funded or County funded facility? They usually have Clinics that specialize in most areas and, since they receive funds from either the County or State, they usually have patient financial Counseling Depts. The income of the household is part of the crtiteria, and since you do work, they will take that into consideration. It may depend on your income status as to whether or not they can offer assistance, but most places do have some sort of Financial Counseling dept. The fact that you are the sole source of income for the household may help. I am not sure abt that, but if you fall within guidelines as far as income goes, you may could be seen at the OB/GYN Clinic. Public Health Dept is not a bad place to check as well. They can always refer if needed. Usually there is a Nurse Practitioner at the PH Dept, and she will be aware of more resources than the general public would be. Your income status will be important. In other words, you will have to prove need. Tattoo

Have you tried to contact Baptist Womens Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee? They might have a clinic of some type you can go to. I see you are from Arkansas, don't know how far you are from Memphis but worth a try. Good luck ...
