View Full Version : Chlorine allergy?

I swear that my sinus problems showed up years ago when as a little kid I would shower. It dried my sinus' and especially in the winter caused problems.

I started irrigation for a full 2 weeks like 4 - 8 times a day, but the last 4 days I've been caughing alot, and I had to stop because of congestion and breathing out my mouth. I felt amazing during the first week since it does clear stuff out, but I'm wondering if maybe its a chlorine allergy since I use regular tap water. My sinus' are just completely swollen now. I've read online that chlorine does bad things to skin/sinus and so on. Anyone think this makes sense?

I know when I go swimming, I spit the whole time, and when I get out my sinus feel kinda open, but like dried out.

It could be the chlorine but it shouldn't be that hard to buy a home filter for your faucet that will remove the chlorine from the tap water (you can get them for an individual faucet) - is it possible that the stuff you've been dealing with for the last few days is because you've caught a cold?
