Does eating food right after taking Adderall XR lessen the absorbtion effects of the drug? I do know that acidic foods and baking soda can, yet I seem to have noticed similar effects if I have any type of meal right after eating, it doesnt seem to work as strong as it does on days in which i don't eat until later in the day. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I have any type of meal right after eating,
whitejerry,
Why would you have a meal right after eating? :D
Ok, seriously, I know it is an ADHD typo. Do the same myself all the time.
To the best of my knowledge a meal will not decrease the sum total of Adderall absorbed but does decrease the rate of absorption.
And to do a little interpolating ... I always feel lethargic after eating carbs/sugars especially in AM. Could that play a role?

I have recently been prescribed Adderall (not XR). What I have found is that taking it on an empty stomach changes the effect greatly. When I take it without having a small breakfast it seems to have somewhat of a negative effect in the first couple of hours. So, when I do have a small bite in the morning it works Perfectly! It Obviously has something to do with the release. So, if you're taking the XR version...this might not be of any help. I just felt that I should post this comment for anyone who might be wondering how to maximize it's effectiveness.
