Hi everyone
I need some advice regarding problems with my bowels. I have booked into the doctor but they can be hit and miss sometimes. Here goes ...
1, For as long as I can remember I have had constipation. I can go for nearly a week to two weeks without going. When I do go my poos are tiny, like pebbles, strange colour (yellow, orange, brown) just a few examples.
2, When I do go properly i go about 4 times in about 10 minutes.
3, Dark stools and blood. This is not fresh blood like with piles.
4, mucus in the poo or on its own without poo.
5, Pain in my lower gut and cramps.
6, Undigested food and runny poo (not often tho).
7, bloated
8, Gas and rumble in the lower bowel region.
9, back ache
10,pain in the bum (seriously) when I sit down like i have bruised my bottom.
11, feeling sick
12, feeling shattered all the time.
Ime sure there is more but cant think at the moment.
Any ideas
thankyou

Well, that sounds like classic IBS symtpoms BUT it can also be a variety of other bowel problems as well, especially because of the blood issue.
Chronic constipation like yours should be treated. I don't know how long you've been experiencing this, but I would get to a doctor ASAP and find out what is causing such severe C. I can only imagine how very sick and exhausted you must feel if you are only going once every week or two. All the symptoms you described, including backache, can be the result of your inability to have bm's.
Keep us posted.

I would defintetly go see a doctor as soon as possible, chronic constipation can be caused different things but can also lead to other major problems such as Diverticulosis (not fun, search it on the net). Watch what you eat and drink as much water as possible. Have you tried any probiotics?

Its been a while since i have been on here but I have been doing the usual wait for results of tests etc. Well I have had a colonostomy and today been told the results are negative and that they want to now do a barium enema. If nothing comes of this then they will just treat the symptoms. What do you guys think of this. Does it sound like just IBS now and do you think checking the Small intestine is a waste of time. Ime not so sure. When they did the colonostomy they saw inflamation in the large bowel near the small intestine but how can this be if there is no inflamatory bowel problem.
Ime feeling a bit fed up.
Ah well
