I currently get a B12 injection every three months and have been told i will need these for the rest of my life, i have also been told to take folic acid daily and was wondering if this was safe to do so. Much Obliged if you can help with this.

Do you have pernicious anemia? Or do they know why you will always need these?

I have hemolytic anemia which means I will have to take folic acid and B12 for the foreseeable future. Taking these supplements isn't like taking harsh medicines for long term that have wide sweeping side effects.

If your body is deficient, you must supplement. This is just replacing what your body can't keep. It's important to keep it functioning correctly. It sounds like your drs have a handle on it, which is great, because undetected B12 deficiencies cause all kinds of trouble.

They have not told me what kind of anemia it is just that i will need to be on these for the rest of my life, i am suffering from quite bad tremors in my body and im not sure if this is a side effect.

I was first diagnosed with a B12 deficiency, which a few months later changed to Pernecius Anemia. I give myself a B12 shot every 3 weeks. If I am a week late on it, I become very tired, sluggish, and just feel very very sick. As long as I take it I'm pretty good. I do not mind giving myself this injection because it makes me feel so much better. It's definately worth it1
