Help, Customer Service is closed until Monday and I need to calm myself down! I came home and DH was going crazy. We got two bills in the mail today, one for $400 for bloodwork that said insurance denied charges because we were not covered at the time. We were, I gave the receptionist the new 2008 card that day. Has that ever happened to anyone? I am hoping it was just a mistake on the recptionists part.
Then we got a statment that said we could be billed over $3,000 for the bloodwork on my first every appt in November. Insurance covers "diagnose and treatment". I would think b/w would be part of "diagnose" right? Please, if anyone can make me feel a little bit better, that would help.

Not to worry - she probably just did not give the lab your insurance information - call them tuesday and give the lab your correct insurance information.

PLEASE don't worry! I work for an insurance company, and I had a $48,000.00 hospital claim on my son DENIED only because my COB (other insurance info) wasn't updated in the computer. Yeah, needless to say, it really does stress you out when you get a bill. They wouldn't take my card at the pharmacy counter a few weeks ago and I had to argue that I worked there and I know I'm covered. Come to find out, they entered a M in the sex field instead of a F, so even that can stop things. It's horrible, and such a sensitive system. If you know you are covered, there's nothing to worry about. A little typo, or someone being lazy on the other end of the computer can get you a bill in the mail. Hope I helped. :)
