I am writing from Belgium. After a respiratory infection 6 weeks ago as well as a flight during that time, I suffer from the excessive production of throat/nasal clear and see-through mucous. This accumulation also creates cracking in my right eustachian tube and sometimes even bloques it. After a scan of my sinuses, which were clear, a blood test eliminating an alergy, the ENT has now put me on MEDROL (Methylprednisolonum) 16 mg a day for 5 days and 8mg a day for another 5 days as well as a nasal spray to put only at night called Flixonase aqua (fluticason propiionas 50 mcg), in the hope these will finally absorb all the mucous. I started 3 days ago and still no improvement.
I am now really becoming restless and am even panicking, because the entire day I am busy swallowing and pulling up the mucous, which each time makes a crackling sound in my right ear.
Is it normal that there is no real improvement and is it normal that my ear is influenced by this excessive accumulation of mucous.
Anyone ever had this problem? Thanks for answering in advance
