AshLAy85 02-11-2008, 12:17 PM Weight gain when going off birth control bjz823 02-11-2008, 01:08 PM Weight gain when going off birth control Yes it happened to me also. YOU? AshLAy85 02-11-2008, 01:29 PM Well not yet, I just went off but i was wondering if i will gain weight when i go off.. so you did gain weight, how much and how long have you been off the pill for? MaddCatter 02-13-2008, 03:53 PM Three weeks ago, I stopped using the pill after ten years. I feel ok except I can't find food to satisfy me! I keep eating and eating - it's as if I have to constantly be snacking. I know I've gained weight. I'm generally thin, but have packed on an extra five pounds. Is this because my hormones are out of whack? Are they aout of whack? Also, I feel like my body temp. has risen. I've always been cold everywhere I go - now, in my office, I want to crank the air down. It's 20'something degrees outside! Anyone else dealing with this? dancergal19 02-18-2008, 11:20 AM I was on yasmin for about 3 years. I haven't experienced any weight gain yet but I have been having waves of nausea and have thrown up twice after eating. I'm not sure if it was something I ate but the nausea seems to have started a week or two after going off yasmin. Has anyone else experienced this?? Kszan 02-18-2008, 11:57 AM I wasn't clear on what you were asking because you didn't form your sentence in a question, which is why I didn't respond sooner. But if you're asking whether it's common to have weight gain after quitting the pill, I would say it can be or it might not be, it just varies from woman to woman. Some women gain a lot of weight while others lose a ton of weight while still others don't see much of a change. It really just varies way too much to give a concrete answer. As to the question about the hot flashes, that's extremely common after quitting the pill. I had that problem for about a year after quitting! It was really annoying and I hated it but I got through it. And Dancergal, from what you are posting, it sounds like you might be pregnant. It is very possible to be extremely fertile when first going off the pill, so if you've had any kind of intimate contact since you quit, you might want to think about looking into a pregnancy test. If not, then sure, I would attribute any changes from what you normally have on a day to day basis to be due to quitting the pill. It really messes up your body and it takes a while to get everything back to normal. So you shouldn't be surprised by any strange things that happen when you're in detox. |
