I have been quite upset about my what my son's girlfriend has done with her 6 year old daughter. Without even having her tested for A.D.D., her and the child's teacher filled out paper work to have her put on medication. One pill in the morning and one in the evening. I don't know what the meds are but I know that the little girl is now just a walking zombie. All that has ever been wrong with this little girl is that she doesn't get any attention from her so-called mother. She just needs positive attention and some love, her mother more or less treats her as if she's just an annoyance, I think that was the reason she put her on the meds.
What are the symptoms of A-D-D, and are the meds supposed to be so strong that it totally changes a bright little girl into a zombie??

WoW the child is lucky to have you as a grandparent. However, you should be aware of that a "teacher" does not have the ability to diagnose or give out a script for any medication. Talk to you son about his daughter and offer to help out after school or on weekends to give her extra attention that she might need.

Lizz, Johna is right. It isn't possible for a teacher and a parent to get a prescription. A doctor has to write the prescription. Sounds like there is more to the story than you know.
I also agree with Johna that it would be great if you could give this little girl some extra attention. ADD or not, if her parents aren't very supportive, she probably desperately needs your love and attention.
