I was looking to see if you guys think I have a sinus infection. I had a cold last week with a cough and flu.

i am a lot better this week but I have pain in my nose area and my mucous is bright green when I blow my nose and it does hurt to blow. Also every time I blow my nose my ears squeek and pop and I am so plugged up I can't hear.. I am going to go to the Dr tomorrow but does this sound like ear infections with a sinus infection to I have never had green stuff in my nose? it also hurts when I put my head down. I should have gone days ago as this has been going on for 3 days now and I was hoping it would go away but its not, so tomorrow I will go, I hate taking antiobiotics but I think I need them.

You definitely have several of the classic symptoms of a sinus infection - the discolored mucus, pressure and pain are pretty good signs that it's a sinus infection.

The biggest mistake patients make with infections, especially sinus, is that they aren't regimine compliant, i.e. finish all their medication. Many, many patients start to feel better around day 6-8 and stop the antibiotics, especially if they are experiencing unpleasant side effects. As the sticker on the bottle says, it's VERY important to finish the cycle. Otherwise, the infection can return at a later date (which will mean that much more meds) or even worse, polyps can develop.
