my husband about 3 weeks ago spend 6 days in the hospital with very severe case of excuberation copd, he also has asbestosis, diabetes, sleep apnea, and numerous helth problem, just too many to mention, after coming home he will barely eat just want to sleep and has given up on life, he wont take his meds, he is on 24 hr oxygen uses it just when sleeping still smoking 3 packs a days and will not slow down so i am watching him deterioate daily his skin is very pale im just wondering how long he can survive like this he eats a bowl of soup a day thats all. anyone with answers would be very appreciated

I think your husband is in a form of depression because he is so sick all the time, this is not how he wanted his life to be, this is not how he pictured his life, no one dose. Do You have children? How old is your husband? If you do have children maybe they can call him more and make him want to have the will to live, give him the will to fight. Talk about hoildays that are coming up and who is coming, make him look foward to things, My fahter was sick and was on oxygen, he had his ups and downs, but he loved the hoildays and when his children and grandchildren came to pay a visit, he loved kids. It has to be a group effert, it just cannot be you, you have allot on your plate right now just taking care of him. Maybe cook his favorite desset or favorite dinner, sometimes just smelling your favorite food makes your mouth water.
