My mother has been suffering from ear pain and pressure in the right ear for more than two years now. She has lost more than 70% of her hearing in that ear, and she gets horrible pressure and pain that is very constant, but turns excruciating frequently. She suffers from sinus/allergy problems also, and has gone to more doctors than i can count. she's had two MRIs, X-rays, exams, and has gone through countless antibioitc and treatment regimens with no success. nothing has helped, and it's only getting worse. the one thing that's curious to me is that she developed the problem the day after she had some dental work done on the right side of her mouth. does anyone have any kind of idea as to what this might be or what can be done? i'm desperate, and she has pretty much given up hope and is just trying to live with it. i hate seeing my mom in pain. thank you for any help you can give me.

She should see the dentist to rule out TMJ problems. Since she does have sinus/allergy problems she should use a good antioxidant supplement to help with this. Also you didn't mention what allergy medication the doctor has her on but if that isn't effective maybe she needs to try a different allergy medication too. Allergy shots might also be worth a try.
