Is it possible... that IBS could be triggered by odors in persons highly sensitive to perfumes etc? I've had IBS for years & chemical sensitivities for years but never really thought about it until this weekend. I was exposed to some terrible perfume & diesel fumes on Fri PM. Sat about 4:00 am I woke with the gurgling & colon cramps so bad I passed out. This a.m. I cleaned the bathroom with a non toxic orange scented cleaner which I hate the smell of & in 15 min the gurgling & cramps started. Could this be possible? I do have hyper autonomic nervous system & vasovagal syncope.
