Hi everybody,
I am new at this topic...I have a jaw disorder since 10 years (tmjd)and I have this ringing in the ears occasionally ( I had it as long as I can remember)and I know that ringing in the ears is a common symptom in tmjd patients, but I am trying to determined if my ringing is associated with the disorder or from my nerve deafness from birth.
Any thoughts would be appreciated from anyone. Thanks in advance. Have a good night.

Hello from New Brunswick!! I really don't know why you have tinnitus, but do know what you are going through. My ears rang sice I was a kid also. 13 years ogo was diagnosed with tumors on each hearing nerve--acoustic neuromas. I haven't had them removed yet as deafnes--total will occur. The ringing is getting real bad--4am here and cannot sleep because of it. It sounds like a dog barking at times or someone crying in the house and always that being beamed up sound like in star treck. Thought there was a machine running outside my window tonight. Oh yeah---every few seconds it sounds exactly like the doorbell rang--especially when lying down. I swear it is driving me crazy---but at least we can still hear--even if it is a little bit. I really miss music the most--can't hear everything in it anymore. Anyways--sorry for the sob story--just wanted to tell you you aren't alone. Take care!!
