Hello all,
I had my stapedectomy on tues. Dr. says it went as planned. I'm not having any ear pain. Yesterday there was an annoying thumping noise, but that seems to have subsided since some fluid came out. I can only hear faintly now, but since it is early, I will be patient. I am having that tunnel sound when I talk now, sort of nasally. I'm not dizzy either, thank God. I am on several medications, Vioxx for swelling, Tylenol with codeine for pain (really haven't needed them), Floxin drops & 875 mgs. of amoxicillin. I go see the ENT man Aug. 19.
Thanks for all the info,
Kathy

Congratulations Kathy,
You'll go through a couple weird sets of sounds and creaks and pops. You are lucky to have escaped the dizziness.
One bit of advice: STAY OUT OF DRAFTS. I caught a slight cold after 10 days and it was Hell to pay with dizziness.
Wait til the packing is removed- what an experience awaits you.
