I have this incredibly annoyimg pulsatile sensation in my left ear. It definitely correlates w/ my heartbeat. it is so loud and distracting at times- mostly at night and I can't say for sure ,but I think it started about 3-4 months ago. Is it pulsatile tinnitus?,some acoustic tumor?,or is it just an exxagerated normal variance caused by allergies,stress i don't know? i need some advice on what to do, and if anyone else has this experience. It is making me crazy!!!!!!

How's your hearing in that ear? It sounds like tinnitus which is often aggravated if there's a conductive hearing loss. (The inner ear begins to hear what's going on inside as it becomes disconnected from the outside)
Are you in your early or middle 30's (I ask because I'm thinking of the possibility of ototsclerosis onset.}

I AM 38, AND MY HEARING APPEARS TO BE JUST FINE. AS A MATTER A FACT I CAN HEAR THE SLIGHTIST OF SOUNDS. I DO HOWEVER FELL FULLNESS IN MY EARS. MY FATHER IS DEAF IN ONE EAR, BUT THAT HAS BEEN SINCE CHILDHOOD. I AM GOING TO SEEK MEDICAL ADVICE,HOWEVER IT HAS BEEN MY EXPERIENCE THAT UNLESS SOMETHING IS OVERTLY OBVIOUS AND CAN BE DETECTED BY PHYSICAL TESTING MEDICINE IS PASSIVE. I KNOW THIS BECAUSE I AM A RN. I WILL LOOK INTO THE OTOSCLEROSIS POSSIBILITY. THANKYOU.

angelinc8,

What were the results of your tests? I'm very curious because I also have the same problem - only at night in bed and only if I turn over on my stomach. It's really annoying and a little scary. I am 35. Any info would be appreciated.

I have the same thing. They are not sure what is wrong with me. I had alot of tests run. Last year they run a test on my neck and they found my subclavain was blocked by 90%. They said the noise was coming from there. They put in a stent, but within 2 weeks the noise was back!

I have done some more research and found information on Pulsatile Tinnitus. This actually sounds like something we both have. Go to google and type in "Pulsatiel Tinnitus" and check it out!
