View Full Version : very bad wind and pain on the leftside

hi ive had IBS for years but this bout is the worst yet.ive got constant pain after eating and alot of gas.my stools are very soft between diarria and very soft.this bout as lasted for about two weeks now its getting me down ive tryed eating special foods and drink loads of water but it does nothing sometimes it wakes me from sleep with a massive wind pain.ive tryed peppermint oil and antispasmatic tablets.off my GP but dont help.when i used to have IBSit used to alot less servier.i was diagnosed 10 years ago. i had all the relervant tests but they where fine so the specialist put it down to IBS.do anyone out there suffer these symptoms.thanks

Definitely. All of the above. Just the other night the trapped gas woke me up six times.

While I hate to say it, IBS does tend to worsen as we get older. Over the years, I've had symptoms come up out of the blue with no reasonable explanation. Because the particulars of IBS can change over time, it can be alarming when some new pain or ache presents itself. Years ago, I was IBS D. Today, I am C mostly, with D thrown in occassionally just for fun!

As you get older, you may have to try different things for relief of symptoms. What might have worked for you before may not work now. You will get lots of good suggestions here on this board.
