Hello Ladies. Like many women with PCOS, I have problems with hair. Of course. Has anywone tried Laser hair removal on thier face? I am too scared to try it. How did laser hair removal work? When it grows back, how does it grow back? Like stubble? How quickly does it grow back? Is it worth it? I have fine thin hair on my face in a beard pattern, but lots of it and it is noticable. I have been told to wait to see if it becomes dark and coarse to do anything. Suggestion?

I have looked into hair removal and i heard it worked great. They tell you to do in for a conciltation and the dr there will talk to you about where you want it done. Then they tell you that you need to shave there for about a week and they will give you a cream to apply for that week and depending on the thickness of the hair for two weeks. After that you have three sesssions, the first one you go in and they remove the hair it will grow back, but not as bad, then three weeks later you go back again. (during those three weeks you will use that cream again on your face) (the cream it to make sure that when they used the lasor on you that its alot less painfull and helps with healing), so after that three weeks you go back again and get the same procedure done again, usually you wont have hair that will grow back, but some times in some areas it might, so thats when you go back again and get the finally treatment done. After that last appointment is done you will have follow ups with the dr that is there. The procedure does work. I have done it myself. It does cost a little bit of money, but for me it was worth it. You might not need all these sessions though depending on the thickness, I have some what thick hair so i did need it, and today i feel great. Not worring about hairs on my face and neck. So i hope this information helps!! Good luck!!:)

Well depending on if you want to live with facial hair for the rest of your life, money shouldnt be an issue.

Thanks for your reply. Have you tried it? It is fine and thin right now, but really noticable becuase there is alot of it. If I do the laser hair removal on my face, will it grow back a little thicker and darker and coarser? I had some electrosis done on my chin, and that is how it grew back - worse, not better. And it was not permanent.

Yes, i had it done but just getting it done once wont work its a process, the best thing that you can do it just consult one of the dr's from the place and they will assess you because every case is different, but ive heard nothing but good things, Good luck!!

i always thought of laser hair removal as something that cost thousands of dollars, but just to let others know - i went for my first treatment today and its not bad at all! a package of four sessions costs about 200 bucks (for underarms or chin or upper lip)..obviously bigger areas like bikini or legs is more..but i think 200$ is more than reasonable!
