I was diagnosied with PCOS last week bvy a fertilty specialist. I was given hormones to help me get a period this month. After I get a period I need to have an xray where they inject dye in me to help see my fallopian tubes. I am also having a few more blood tests this month. My doctor said that in order for me to get pregnant I will need clomid (Ive tried it alone for four month), estrogen, and some kind of injections. I was just wondering how many othere women out there have been prescribed something like metforin?

Hi! I haven't been prescribed Metformin, but I am currently on estrace (estrogen) and then ratio-mpa (progestin) to get AF. And then onto Clomid. I hope your regiment helps for you!!

Hi Jennie,

I was put on Metformin a few years back. I am 43 amd when I was trying to get pregnant my fertility doctor had me on Rezulin to try and help me get pregnant. (needless to say Rezulin was pulled by the FDA around 2000) With my son who is 14 years old, I took Rezulin.

I also had the dye test on my tubes. I took Clomid and Pergonal to try to help get pregnant along with the Rezulin. I ended up having an Ovarian wedge resection with ovarian Diathermy. I got pregnant the same month I had the procedure. I had it done in March of 1993 and had my son in December 1993. So when we decided to try for another child I had the same procedure done. I had that one done in July 1998 and had my daughter in May of 1999. I want to wish you the best of luck. Don't get discourage on this journey.

Was on metformin for about a year before I had money problems & took a yar off from trying to conceive. After the metformin & clomid, diet & exercise I had lost 30 pounds. When I got off the metformin, the weight piled back on & I lost my menstrual cycle for 6 months. This winter, I got back to a doctor & started back on metformin. Within the cycle, I had regained having a period as well as lost 5 pounds! Now just praying:angel:for a baby Don't worry about having the dye test. I had one 3 months ago & dreaded waiting, but it is a very quick procedure & not much pain
