i get bloated, short of breath (vaguely helped by something as simple as gaviscon advance tablets) but the real issue is needing to eat decent sized protein filled meals every few hours or else Ill get weak, light headed and shakey on my feet.

I used to be fit and ate healthy and now im pretty much wweak all the time. Doctors first thought was IBS (i guess because of the bloating).

What do you think? sound like IBS to you?

thanks.

Shortness of breath and weakness are not generally symptoms of IBS. Neither are light-headedness or shakiness. It sounds to me like a possible blood sugar problem.

IBS symptoms are usually dx by the Rome Criteria. More than three months of continous symptoms that include abdominal pain, gas, bloating, incomplete BM's, intermittent D and C, spasms, odd shaped stools, etc.

yeah, thats what i thought. GP seems hell bent on saying I have IBS. bloodsugars been tested, thyroids been tested - both fine. i think I'm out of his sphere of knowledge so he's grasping at straws.

ah well, my quest to see what's wrong with me continues.
