Hello to all. I just got a copy of my echo so I could apply for the state uninsurable insurance and found out what enlargement of the heart I have. It is called mild septal hypertrophy. Is this the kind that is genetic and people drop dead all the sudden? This is all I can find about it on the internet. The doctor made it sound like it came from high blood pressure--well, correction, the echo giver (special nurse?) said that. So I see by pictures what is enlarged--wall between the two bottom chambers. The HBP meds are working great--maybe TOO great since I can hardly lift myself off the couch--BP is holding at 110/70 and heart rate is steady at 58 BPM. Need to make a 6 month checkup appointment I guess now that it has been 7 months!!! Thanks for any input.
