i'm very new to computers, and this site, tho i have been resarching thru you, of which I'm grateful. My husband was prescibed redux in 97 , used it for 150 days, then stopped, because he felt sort of goofy.
Not long after this he began to get sick, very sick.
Short of breath, pnumonia, was taken ER many times, they did check his heart but didnt specify as to why, me in my ignorance by this time had heard of phen-fen damages ,BUT he took redux, no-one bothered to tell us they were kissin cousins! But when he started to bleed at night while asleep ( we have oppisite shifts) and bed clothes are covered in blood , he went to dr. gp.
His bp was incredibly high, they scheduled an echo, still no-one would tell us what was wrong. Just that he was a sick man ,I know this is long but I've been searching for 4 years . Now it he has had 3 echos , 1ekg, sleep study, diagnosis: enlarged left ventricle, enlarged heart, 1 echo says pulminary hypertension ,sleep apnea. I now know that redux can cause these damage's and -or trigger them in person.s sucsesible to them. he is on cardizem.300mg aday, acuppril : started at 5mg, then 10mg , now 20 mg per day, his bp has been as high as 220/140,and diueretics. All symtons say congestive heart failure, and pph, cardiologist is'nt saying ,tho I feel I ask the right questions, pulminary valve is unclear in all echos, and all echos say he is a challenge. To sum it up , how long does it take for apnea to cause such damage? Everything I've found points to elderly ( he didnt have apnea 5 years ago)he is using cpap, got unto study qiickly, week later had cpap. The total prognosis is not good, but why to someone this young? 45. I'm sure redux had a huge hand in this , so I would like to know the length of time a person has apnea until heart damage .Thank you (anyone ) who can answer this . lupine

Not sure about the sleep apnea issue but the deadline is almost up on the redux issue, if you haven't seen an attorney you need to very quickly!!!1

Thankyou , Crokett from Texas
We have attorney's working on it, you are the first to show a response, and I've been asking alot of questions. My husband has been so very sick, but it's the not knowing , that is so very painful. Our Drs. are not very forthcoming and it really does bother me that I must search on my own,I wish I'd never heard of any weight loss program. Anyway , Thankyou again, and please keep in touch. Sorry to hear that your husband is not well. Hope the news gets better. You need to find a better doc for him. Don't rely on er docs for correct info they are not always reliable. Take care and get rest yourself.
