this may be totally off the wall, but, I have some heart problems and always get concerned with chest pains or arm pains on my left side. a couple of years ago, it would start with a stabbing, hard stabbing pain where I barely could move. At one point I ended up in the ER with pains in my chest and left arm that were servere enough to take my breath away and make me double over. I was oddly enough scheduled for gall bladder surgery the same month. Would you believe that after I had my gall bladder removed, that I had the pain once and that was within just a day or two of the surgery. If tests turn out negative results on your heart and it is in good shape, it might not hurt to consider looking into your gall bladder to see if you have gall stones or it is diseased.
I don't remember any ear pain associated with the problem I was having, but you can't ever tell. It is just a thought on my part anyway. Good luck, God Bless and hope all goes well with your tests/
