I have been diagnosed for several years with Fibromyalgia but have noticed a symptom that I did not relate to Fibro until I went to my vets office the other day. The floor in the office is made up of big black and white alternating tiles. I honestly cannot stand to look at this floor. It does something to my brain. Almost makes me like sea sick. I also have a hard time when our overhead fan is on and then we turn on the fan light and it make likes a slight strobe light affect. Does anyone else suffer with these kind of symptoms?

It is fairly common to have vertigo with fibromyalgia. That is the symptom you describe. I have a friend who suffers from that symptom.

I have major vertigo problems. There are certain tile patterns that set me off-- with black and white patterns at the top of the list-- staring at a ceiling fan, camera angles in movies. I have never been able to watch Man On Fire all the way through because the camera angles set off my vertigo. There are days where I can't drive because I'm so dizzy with vertigo that I can't turn my head.
It's definitely not just "in your head". It's a real symptom that goes along with FM.
