I am a 29 y.o. male with a rapid heart rate even while at rest. It will run anywhere from 90-111 beats per minute. I don't have anyother symptoms. I am overweight at 5'10, 265lbs. I don't have any medical problems, but I do have some small gallstones. I take clonazepam and Paxil everyday. I am a non-smoker. My blood pressure runs borderline high, anywhere from 120/85 to sometimes 95. Any comment on my fast heart rate?

I have had sinus tachycardia since my teens. After many years of worry and tests, I finally decided that I could keep the heart rate down if I avoided bread, ice cream, MSG, sulfites, nitrates, and so on, with certain breads being the worst offenders. Since you are overweight, I highly recommend a high protein, high vegetable, moderate fruit, moderate fat (olive oil not mayonnaise) and no starch diet. That includes no corn, peas, and carrots. Eat plenty of leafy greens, and other vegetables, and drink lots of water. Take protein supplement shakes, or amino acids between meals. This will help cravings, and curb your appetite.
If after a few weeks, you don't feel better, then an EKG and further tests may be needed to determine the exact nature of your problem. There is also a syndrome called hyperkinetic heart syndrome that is especially prevalent in young men.
I'll be happy to advise you on the protein and amino acids. I'm a veteran and have had great success with this way of eating. However, if not, do please try everything else mentioned, especially lots of live enzyme rich vegetables. :)

You are so right! I also have had improvement by natural alternatives. Have you tried hawthorn, malic acid & magnesium, co-enzyme q-10, amoungst multi-vitamin & mineral. I'm working on weight right now. If doctors would of had their way I would of had ablation at 27 and I'm 30 now! My cardiologist recommended ablation at 27. I asked my primary care physician and I told him if I was your daughter what would you suggest... ah ha I got him! He said since ablation is a fairly new procedure and they have not discovered the long term effects I would change your diet and take your heart meds. I got in such good shape I didn't have to take heart meds for 3 yrs. I've also had heart attacks prior! but, then I felt so good I gained a lot of weight and went of herbs and vitamins and wow and behold sick with the heart again. So, I'm back on all the remedies and feeling better but, not quite healed. Most importantly prayer to Jesus Christ gives me the peace, hope that I need. Acts 2:38....

All things,
I had a few questions and posted a new topic instead...I started to respond to this one first and changed my mind.
