View Full Version : Heart Trouble at 20?

Hello!

I'm 20 years old. I have chronic anemia, unexplained. I suffered from a "viral infection" from Dec '01 to Jan '02 which left my previous (benign?) heart murmur much louder. My doctor told me to immediately have an ECG performed. However, I did not have any health insurance and could not pay for the $850 procedure. I am finally able to afford health insurance and will soon be covered, allowing me to get the ECG. In the meantime, I would like any opinions about my symptoms. I have chronic fatigue, unrefreshing sleep and very low heat tolerance. Headaches, shortness of breath and slight dizziness during exercise. Heart palpatations mostly during rest, angina (heart pain) during rest, and shortness of breath when laying down or standing/sitting still. I have three nurses in the family, when they (or myself) listen to my heart it sounds muffled, irregular, and there is a third sound. My pulse (usually 100 bpm when resting) is irregular. Before becoming ill, my blood pressure was naturally a tad high, but now it is lower than what is normal for me, sorry I don't have the exact numbers now.

Anything? Thank you very much in advance!!!
