Thankyou in advance to anyone who replies.
I was told i had MVP in 1991.It was found due to lightheadedness, palps, etc.
The past year or so,i've noticed i get what feels like a muscle cramp in my left shoulder, into the back top of my breast bone, and sometimes into the front left. Now the main thing that bothers me is it hurts when i touch those areas, which i was told means muscle. When i used to get the bad palps,i'd feel this god awful feeling come up my throat,if that makes sense, and i'd know it was going to start.NOW,(sorry) the past few months,i feel like i'm going to get the palps. but then nothing, and still have the pain in the left on and off.I had a EKG a few days ago which was normal, and due for another echo this week.I was asked if i had a stress test, and said no.
The monitor i wore for 24 hours last year said: 1355 abnormal beats,53 successive abnormals,200 tachy episodes, ranging from 120bpm to 175 bpm,no brady episodes,no pause episodes,no SVE,no SVT.There were 2 S/T episodes,154 couplets, and 10 bigeminy episodes.NONE of this was really ever explained to me,and now that i'm having this other stuff,i wonder should i have the stress test done? and could it be a artery,i am 36 and have 2 kids (young) it scares me.Any help is GREATLY appreciated.I have no idea what to think.

hi. when you get palps, it feels like a fluttering in your throat, its annoying. do you drink coffee, that does it, i switched to decaf and they went down alot.you should go get astress test if it would make you feel better, a thallium is more accurate.i also have mvp.as far as the monitor goes, did dr. say it was ok,if so forget that ,you dont know what it means anyway. im sure everyone has some abnormal beats. good luck

I have a message here on the board it's under Annette30. Go ahead and read it. I have suffered these same symptoms and have had heart attacks. What you are describing is exactly what I was suffering prior to my heart attack. My svt had went up to 205 beats a minute on a holter. The doctors told me not to worry just SVT oh yeah, not necessarily true. I thought it was harmless? Well, read my posts because there are other natural alternatives to help. Go to your local health food store get some liquid magnesium, malic acid, coenzyme q-10, "hawthorn herb" plus, change your eating habits. Eat small little meals and reduce your salt intake. Believe me I got desperate when I couldn't get relief from the doctors and all these meds had all these side effects I was discouraged and researched for my own self! Take care and I'll pray for you

Plus, I'm only 30 years old along with children. I know the worry that can consume you because it feels like your hanging on a limb. Malic acid & Magnesium are great for relaxing the muscles. It has done a wonder for me. Have the doctor check your potassium level too. You may be low. Which may help. There are also herbs that relax you like kava kava by the maker named "natrol". Hawthorn is good by the maker named "Soloray". Most importantly pray to Jesus for strength, peace & healing!

Hi Krissy, I had muscle cramping in my left shoulder and breast bone off and on for about 5 days before I had a major muscle cramping that lasted a couple of hours. I went to a PA and she also thought it was muscle, then she decided to have an ekg done and drew blood for a cardiac enzyme check, just be be on the safe side. It turned out that my cardiac enzymes were over 400 (normal is 75 to 140) which meant that I had had a mild heart attack. A cardiac doctor had me do an angiogram and I had a blocked artery on the left front of my heart. You may want to have that checked more to see what is going on. I hope everything goes well. I will be thinking of you.

Hi, No i have NO SVT, its strange, but i am seeing a pattern that this hurts me more during ovulation and the period, like a monthly pattern? have no idea why.
Thankyou for the herbal advice as i usually try to stay away from meds, sick of the side effects! after i posted this, a few days later the pain stopped, and i had a echo, they did tell me at the time i had no regurge.I'm waiting for the final report on Monday.
Any other help is greatly appreciated. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/wave.gif Krissy

Krissy, glad to hear things are better. Annette mentioned kava kava in her post. I've used it and it has a nice relaxing affect but studies have shown it to be tough on the liver if used too much so be careful if you decide to use it.

Hi Dean, thankyou for the advice.

Phja, i can tell you, i take 30mg. a day which is whats recommended, and its best to get one with vitamin E in it as it acts as a "preservative" so to speak.I did alot of research on this, and this is what i found.I got mine at the vitamin shoppe, their brand.
Good luck, Krissy

Did i make a mistake by not going for the stress test? i wonder.
