My wife just found out she has elevated ALT/AST levels (94/61 respectfully). Because she fails to flush the toilet at night due to waking our daughter, I have noticed for awhile now, although not all the time, dark urine. But, I keep forgetting to ask her about it. I noticed it this morning and thought, I really need to ask her, but then she found out her blood tests today and I see that dark urine is a factor with liver issues. Her Bilrubin is .3mg/dL.

She is a medical nightmare. She is bipolar (medicine resistant, so they are always trying something else or a different combo), about 3 years ago she was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, because of autoimmune disorder and has been treated for that. Over the last 4 years or so, she has gained 100 lbs. She sleeps almost all the time due to fatigue, has headaches almost every morning. I told her to get a sleep apnea test 3 years ago, but just finally went to get one and she has it, but just found out about a week ago for sure. Last year, diagnosed with general anxiety disorder. In Dec of 07, she had numbness in her foot for several months, finally went to see a specialists, and was diagnosed with a B12 deficiency and ordered to take Calcium due to bone density issues.

I don't remember why she had the blood work done on the first round, but Dr ordered a second test and then she went into today to talk about the results. She also had high Cholesterol (251mg).

She doesn't drink alcohol (or hasn't in like 10 years) but prior to that was an alcoholic for 4-6 years or so. She is on many meds, including Lithium which I know deals with the liver. She is either on or has been on some of the drugs that say they might have higher levels.

Her White Blood Count was a little high at 11.7, but Doc said that is probably due to one of her meds she is on.

She is supposed to schedule a ultrasound and some other test (don't remember) to get some more data.

Anyone want to take any guesses on narrowing down the "large pool" of possibilities of what it could be? Key things are dark urine, 50lbs weight gain over the last year, always hungry. Blood Glucose was at 99, high end of the normal range. Constantly sleepy and tired. Her ABS Neutrophils where high at 8.5. Her pituitary gland has a small growth on it, but recently had that MRI'd and it was still same size or smaller since going on Thyroid replacement. I know it's a shot in the dark, but wondered if anyone else had or knew of anyone with same type of issues.

Two years ago, she had suicidal depression and was hospitalized on 5 occasions over a 2 year period. While she never attempted it, she had a plan apparently.
