Hi would value some advice ....I've had problems with my BP for years now and today all of a sudden it shot up to 164/144 ....after about 10 mins it went down to 145/96 it is now back down to 130 /85. I was sat playing scrabble on the computer at the time so wasn't doing anything stressful and wasn't anxious or anything. I now have a whopper of a headache ...what could cause this it isn't the first time this has happened.
I'm on metropolol 50mg twice a day, Ramapril 5mg twice a day, amlodipine 5mg a day, I also take isotard 30mg for angina. Is it worth telling my GP about these sudden rises during the day?

hello~sometimes we do have hidden stresses that will cause BP to spike. You may not be aware that you are excited playing the online games. Also certain foods or drinks especially caffeine will raise our BP. The common pain reliever Ibuprofen can raise it. Lack of sleep will too. Something I quit long ago was watching and monitoring mine all day long. Putting that strap on the arm too often will/can raise our BP because of anxiety.
Yours was really high~with all the meds you take~so if it continues~definitely call the doc. Hope I helped some.
Good Luck~RR ")
