I've been on micardis for a little over a week, and my Dr. just added a small dose of lasix (5mg) I have been having the worst crampy type pain in both of my legs and I'm thinking it's probably the micardis? I've only been on the small dose of lasix for two days so I don't think I'd be having the pain from that yet. Has anyone else had leg pain on an ARB?
I don't think that there is a BP drug in existence that I can tolerate!

suki,
I haven't been on micardis, but I have been on a diuretic...and believe you me, diuretics can cause leg pain! I suggest you read the package inserts for both medications and find out what they recommend should you get that symptom.
Although some symtoms may come and go, that particular symptom may get worse...do check those inserts, and call your doctor.

They gave me Lasix during my last fibroid surgery and I had leg pains for 2 days after. I think it's the lowering of potassium, so get your electrolytes checked.

My Dr. sent me for bloodwork yesterday, so I'm waiting to hear what my electrolytes are doing. I also have the flu, so I'm just a pretty unhappy camper right now!

Suki,
Are you experiencing vomiting and diarrhea? If so, I suspect it is not the flu but an electrolyte imbalance or overdose caused by the lasix. I would encourage you to contact your doctor's office about this change in your health right away...or at least tell them when they call you with the results of your lab work!!!!
I had the "flu" for 3 weeks when taking a diuretic only to find out afterward that it wasn't the flu at all but a side effect of the medication (overdose). Flu should go away in 24-48 hours. If it doesn't, it's something else, most likely problems with the medication.
No matter what the cause, if you are experiencing vomiting and diarhhea, it is critical to maintain hydration and keep your electrolytes balanced or things could get worse. Your doctor's staff or your doctor should be able to help with this.

I just have a fever, cough and body aches. My husband, son and daughter all had this bug last week. My daughter is in her high school musical this weekend and I do a huge fundraiser flower sale for the school, so the timing of this is just lovely! Or should I say loverly, (the musical is My Fair Lady), LOL
Thanks for your concern! You are such a kind, caring person.:)

Well that's different, not better;), but different. I hope you will be feeling better soon! The disadvantage of having school age children is that they bring home those "bugs"...but the advantage is that your immune system should be in great shape,.
I wish I could be in the audience of your daughter's musical...My Fair Lady is great!!!! And I'd be the first in line to buy flowers, ;).
You, too, are a very kind and caring person...despite being quite ill, you took the time to respond and shared a bit our yourself with us! Now take care of yourself and get back into bed, :D.
