I was wondering if any of you gals, experience a increase of symptoms, 7-10 days before your periods. I know that I felt better when I was pregnant, so with hormones fluctuating,in my 40's I can see this as being a problem. If you have noticed, what has helped? I am on celexa and I exercise and don't eat refined sugars. Thanks for your help! Blessings, sandi:angel:

Hi, its a known fact that hormones do affect MS- which is why most women, when they are pregnant, do not have MS symptoms..
Yes, most of us have complained that our period messes with our symtoms in one way or another. Some of us, have stated in the past that right before the period comes on- MS symptoms rage! Others claim it happens at ovulation.

I recently had my tubes tied and went off the pill for the first time in 21 years..Im having all sorts of homonal issues right now- and yes, Im also having all sorts of weird MS symtoms; however I had an MRI just last week, and nothing new is happening..
SO, there you have it- MS is just plain impossible to predict!
Hope this helps.
Nikki

Congrats to you, too, Sandi. Stay well! And, no, youre not crazy! Many studies are being done with regard to estrogen supplements and MS- this being the basis for why hormones affect or lessen our MS symptoms..talk to your Neuro or GYN about it; and definately read the posts here- lots of info and discussions go on on this very topic...
hugs
Nikki
